The Resort
The resort itself, was huge, it contained 7 onsite Restruants, a 18 hole golf course and took us approximately 15 minutes to walk from our room to the main reception. It was imaculate in it's upkeep. All the furniture was top quality and very stylish. The resort also had access to the Caribean, sunbeds placed along white sands, ringed with palm trees and running into the turquiose sea. Pretty damn good. The pool area was huge and without exaggeration you could have "picked" a different "spot" around the pool for each of the 14 days that we were there.
Had a slight mishap on the second last day at the beach, when i was hit in the face by a "rogue" wave, whilst paddling at the waters edge, it washed my good specs clean of my face ...... i never even felt a thing. I then spend the next 5 mins grubbing around on my hands and knees [blind as a bat] trying find them. I then had a "flash" of insperation and borrowed a "snorkel" mask and pipe from the nearby hut and took an impromptu snorkel lesson. I was joined by a boy of about 17 -ish and we spend 40 mins looking for them, in an ever widening area ... but nothing. I thanked him and gave up and sat my bum on a sunbed and lamented my bad luck. I did notice after about 5 mins that the boy was back in the sea.... amazingly a few minutes later he appeared from below the water with my specs in his hand. There was not a scratch on them !!! and he found them a good 10 metre's away from the location i lost them. I was jubilent, he grinned, held out his hand and said .... "tip" ...... so it ended up costing me $20 USD in a tip for him ..... he muttered something about the direction of the tide, blah, blah ..... wee bugger probably planked them their all along and faked good "snorkelling skills" .... ah tae hell.
